Thank you for visiting my page!
I am participating in the "Penny Harvest 2012 Run for Change!" as part of team SIBD NYU to raise money for one of the most important causes – supporting children so they can have the kind of future that you and I have been given.
Through the Penny Harvest, thousands of students across New York City are given the tools to convert their natural compassion for others into action by collecting pennies and turning those pennies into grants and service-learning projects to support their local community. This incredibly effective program has been supporting children in schools for the last 20 years, providing more than $8 million to community organizations in need, but Common Cents is currently at risk of not having enough funding to continue this work next year.
They need our help! Why? Close your eyes and remember yourself at 10 years old. Can you recall a moment when you were given an opportunity to make a difference, create change, have a voice, help another, gain recognition and feel empowered? If so, please give to my fundraising mission to support that same experience for other kids. If you didn't have that experience, you can give that dream to someone now and help prevent them from dropping out of school and teaching them the collective power of youth leadership and philanthropy.
Why this team? SIBD is a student led organization I was fortunate to be a part of which serves as a forum to promote advocacy and action in developing sustainable solutions to global problems. The world's future is a major concern for us all today. What a better way to begin addressing this issue than by empowering the kids who are our future, today?
Let's take advantage of this opportunity to support such a great cause together!
Thank you so much for your support.
